Our official Leonese tourist guides will accompany you on a tour of two and a half hours, in which we will begin the visit to the interior of the Pulchra Leonina (the Beauty of León), to observe the 1,800 m² of spectacular stained glass windows, considered one of the best medieval ensembles in Europe.
We will continue our route through the old town of León, where together we will create a unique and unrepeatable experience, through our stories and experiences as tourism professionals. Art, history, legends, traditions and gastronomy await you.
Our official Leonese tourist guides will accompany you on a two and a half hour tour, in which we will begin the visit to the interior of the Pulchra Leonina (the Beauty of León), to observe the 1,800 m² of spectacular stained glass windows, considered one of the best medieval ensembles in Europe. Without forgetting the choir and retrochoir stalls, the organ and its different keyboards, located in the central nave of the mid-thirteenth century Gothic temple. With special attention to the altarpiece of the High Altar, the apsidial chapels and the tomb of the Leonese king Ordoño II, inside the ambulatory. Outside, we will pay special attention to its sculptures, facades and towers.
We will continue our route through the old town of León, where the famous Barrio Húmedo awaits us, to show us its streets full of bars and nightlife venues, where you can enjoy its varied tapas, (potatoes, jerky, blood sausage, soups of garlic, minced meat, croquettes, sausage, etc.), being a free gift from the Leonese hoteliers with each consumption. And in the medieval heart are the squares of San Martín and Mayor, where we will talk about traditional markets, craft unions, the old Jewish quarter and the most traditional gastronomy (typical dishes, DO León wines, craft beer and local vermouth ).
A few meters away we will stop, in the Plaza de los Condes de Luna (old Food Market and remains of the old palace), stories from the Kingdom of León, legends and mysteries await you.
We will walk along Ancha street, the most touristy in the city center, until we reach the Plaza de San Marcelo (patron saint of León), where we will talk about the Old Town Hall, the church of the Roman centurion, the Casa Botines by Antonio Gaudí and the Palace de los Guzmanes (current provincial council).
Finally, we will go to the "fashionable neighborhood", where the people of León are going to have a few beers in the evening, always accompanied by those elaborate tapas, which make the Romantic area an essential area to wander around.
Our favorite site is without a doubt the Royal Basilica of San Isidoro, where the pilgrims who were doing the Camino de Santiago, cross the Puerta del Perdón, to obtain the corresponding indulgences and the forgiveness of sins in the Jubilee year. The last stop will be in the Plaza de la Catedral, where we begin our visit.
