Since the Middle Ages, Villafranca has been one of the most important points on the French Camino de Santiago and in its Romanesque church of Santiago (crossing the famous Puerta del Perdón) pilgrims could obtain a plenary indulgence in case they could not continue to Santiago.
During the tour we will accompany you through one of the most beautiful areas of Bierzo, where you will discover a place where nature and wine tourism are very fashionable.
The multitude of churches, convents and palaces that it treasures is also known as "the little Compostela". Long linked to the Marquis of Villafranca, the traces of this important family can still be seen in monuments such as the collegiate church of Santa María de Cluniaco, the convent of La Anunciada or the impressive castle-palace that dominates the entire town.
