From León, we'll take a lovely excursion to the Valporquero Caves, located in the town of Valporquero de Torío, part of the municipality of Vegacervera, in the northern part of the province of León. Situated on the southern slopes of the Cantabrian Mountains, these impressive underground formations are located within the Argüellos Biosphere Reserve, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005 for its extraordinary natural and scenic value.
Opened to the public in 1966, the caves are one of the province's main tourist attractions and one of the most spectacular karst complexes in Spain. Inside, visitors can admire an astonishing world of stalactites, stalagmites, lava flows, and columns, patiently sculpted by water over millions of years.
It can be the one we've already designed from León to the Caves (round trip) or the one you prefer to design with us, including some interesting stops, lunch in the area, etc.
Standard route: Visits 5 cavities with different formations, covering a distance of approximately 1.6 km each way, with a guided tour lasting approximately 50 minutes and more than 320 steps.
Long route: Visits 7 cavities with different formations, covering a distance of approximately 2.5 km each way, with a tour lasting approximately 90 minutes and more than 350 steps.
The tour will be private, regardless of the number of people attending.
Transportation is not included, and you can arrange it with us depending on the number of attendees, departing from León.

The tour can start from your accommodation in León or from the Valporquero parking lot. Our guides will be carrying a red umbrella/windbreaker with our company name, Leonesa Tours (Guided Tours).

The single price includes: a guided tour in Spanish with an accredited guide, the duration of the tour, and personalized service throughout the entire service. Entrance fees to monuments and museums, if applicable, are not included and must be paid for on the day at the ticket office.
Visiting hours depend on the time of year and capacity at each time slot, which are solely the responsibility of the monument's management.
