Riaño is a municipality on the León side of the Picos de Europa, whose natural space is covered by the rivers Esta and Yuso.
Its history is marked by the environmental catastrophe suffered some decades ago due to the construction of the reservoir, burying 8 villages, with all their cultural and natural heritage.

We will start the visit with a walk to ‘the bank with the best views’, a few metres away we have the Romanesque church and the hórreo (typical raised construction to preserve food and isolate it from humidity and animals). We will continue along the Paseo del Recuerdo (in homage to the villages that disappeared due to the construction of the reservoir).
Not forgetting the highest swing and the viewpoint, with spectacular views of the whole valley.
The boat trip and the visit to the Ethnographic Museum are optional.
The guided tour is on foot through exterior locations.

The start of the visit will be from the Embarcadero car park in Riaño. If you need transport, please consult prices with departure from León.
